If you do really well at the Windsor Chess Challenge, you might want to come to the 2027 Playoffs on March 27, 2027. You can come to the Windsor playoffs if you play in the 2027 Windsor Chess Challenge and you win a gold, silver or bronze medal at the Chess Challenge on March 2 or 3, 2027 or you scored 6.0 points or more on March 2 or 3, 2027.

Playoff Registration Opens March 2, 2027!

Playoffs Information

The playoffs will be at the Ciociaro Club, 3745 North Talbot Road, Windsor on Saturday, March 27, 2027. The format will be grade-by-grade, as usual, and there will be three games. Players in almost all games will be using chess clocks. We will allow 25 minutes per player per game, that’s a 50-minute game.

  • Grades 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 play in the morning: 9:00 am – 9:15 am to check in, 9:30 am to start play
  • Grades 6, 7, and 8 play in the afternoon: 1:00 pm – 1:15 pm to check in, 1:30 pm to start play.
  • Entry fee $15… pre-register here. Walk-in spaces are not available.

  • Pre-register to guarantee your spot. We accept etransfers and on-line payments, so your check-in is quick and easy!

100 Trophies Awarded

Score 3 points at the playoffs, win a large, fancy trophy.
Score 2½, win a medium fancy trophy.
Score 2 points, win a small trophy.
Score 1½ points or less, receive a participation award.
