If you've done really well at the Chess Challenge,
you might want to come to the playoffs.

You can come to the Windsor playoffs if you played in the 2019 Windsor Chess Challenge AND...

(1) You won a gold or silver medal at the Chess Challenge on February 26 or 27, 2019.
(2) You scored 6 points or more on February 26 or 27, 2019.

The playoffs will be at the Ciociaro Club, 3745 North Talbot Road, Windsor on Sunday, April 7, 2019. The format will be grade-by-grade, as usual, and there will be three games. Players in almost all games will be using chess clocks. We will allow 25 minutes per player per game, that's a 50-minute game.

Grades 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 play in the morning: 9:00 am - 9:15 am to check in, 9:30 am to start play.
Grades 6, 7, and 8 play in the afternoon: 1:00 pm - 1:15 pm to check in, 1:30 pm to start play.

Entry fee $5... pay in cash at the door.

There is no need to pre-register for the playoffs.
In the past, we have found that about 85 - 90% of qualified players show up,
so pre-registering is not needed.

One hundred trophies to be awarded!

Score 3 points at the playoffs, win a large, fancy trophy.
Score 2, win a medium fancy trophy.
Score 2 points, win a small trophy.
Score 1 points or less, receive a participation award.

Trophy winners in Windsor are invited to the Ontario Youth Chess Championships
